Ingredients for English Muffin Pizzas in the Air Fryer

  • English muffins – for a heathier twist try whole wheat English muffins.
  • Pizza sauce – Or you can use marinara sauce.
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese – Sometimes I use a shredded pizza cheese blend that has a mix of Italian-style cheeses.
  • Mini pepperoni – These are the perfect size or, if you can’t find them, stack up some regular sliced pepperoni and cut them into quarters.

How long does it take to toast an English muffin in the air fryer?

I like to toast them at 400°F for about three minutes. If you use a higher or lower cooking temperature, you will need to adjust the cooking time.

Tips for the BEST English Muffin Pizzas

  • Air fry the muffins in a single layer with the cut-side up. This will ensure they toast evenly. If there’s not enough room, don’t stack them. Instead, cook them in batches for the best results.
  • Don’t add too much sauce. Just spread enough on top to cover the muffin (leaving a little border) – you don’t want them to be soggy.
  • Go easy on the toppings, too. Pick one or two favorites plus the cheese. If you add too many, your pizzas will get weighed down and will be hard to eat.
  • Make sure you prebake the English Muffins then top them or you will get soggy pizzas.

Change Up the Pizza Toppings!

Just like regular pizza, these English muffin pizzas go with pretty much any topping you like. It’s a great way to use up ingredients you might have on hand, too! Here are some ideas:

  • Meat: Try cooked crumbled bacon, crumbled cooked Italian sausage, Canadian bacon, or cooked ground beef.
  • Cheese: Any good melting cheese will work like mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, and provolone. You can also pair the cheese with some grated Parmesan cheese on top.
  • Vegetables: Sliced black olives, finely chopped bell pepper and onion or add some finely sliced mushrooms on top.
  • Sauce: Instead of pizza sauce try making white pizzas with Alfredo sauce. Or, brush the English muffins with olive oil and skip the sauce.

What to Serve Them With

Pair these mini pizzas with salad, cooked veggies like broccoli, green beans, or peas. Or serve them with some tomato soup on the side.

They go great with frozen yogurt bites, strawberry banana popsicles, or yogurt bark for dessert!
