How to Store Homemade Uncrustables

Refrigerator/Room Temperature – Place sandwiches in a ziploc bag and squeeze as much air out as you can when you seal the bag. They will stay good for 2-3 days in the refrigerator or at room temperature.

Freezer – Wrap each of your crustless sandwiches in plastic wrap and then place the bulk of them in a large Ziploc bag, sealing it shut before placing the bag in the freezer. Try to squeeze as much air out of the bag as possible. Leave your sandwiches in the freezer until you’re planning to have one. You can pull it out and let it thaw for 15-30 minutes before eating. It should taste excellent!

Helpful Tips for DIY Uncrustables!

  • If you don’t want to toss the crust and feel like it’s a waste, you’ll be glad to know that you can use it for a few other things. You can use the crust to prepare homemade bread pudding or dip it into an egg mixture with cinnamon powder and sugar to prepare french toast sticks with it. No matter what you decide to do, you can make use of the crust instead of wasting it.
  • While you can use a jar lid in a pinch, if you’re planning to make these crustless sandwiches more often than not, consider buying a sandwich cutter and sealer. It’ll come in handy when you want to cut and seal these sandwiches to make them look just like the real deal.
  • We found that large sandwich bread, called “giant” worked well and was big enough to fit the sandwich cutter. This will depend on the sandwich cutter you use.
