Why You’ll Love This Activity
- Coloring pages with a bigger purpose! By having a corresponding color with each number, children can begin to learn different colors and improve number recognition.
- Coloring helps to refine fine motor skills. Kids will be able to stay in the lines much more easily the more that they practice and develop those fine motor muscles.
- Use these pages in the classroom setting, in homeschool or even as an independent practice activity. It could be extra work for early finishers in class, and even simply fun morning work in class just to make teaching life a little easier.
How Old Should Kids Be To Color By Number?
On average, color by number worksheets like these are great for children from ages 4 to 8 years old. However, some children are more advanced than others and are able to recognize color and numbers a bit earlier than age four.
If they’re showing interest and want to color the page, then go for it! The sooner those fine motor skills can be developed, the better. As children get older, you can begin to give them more complicated color by number code sheets that are a little more challenging.
