- Tissue paper – Use assorted colors of tissue paper to make the heart look like stained glass.
- Scissors – If you are making this craft with young children, consider using safety scissors. You can also pre-cut the different colors of tissue paper so that it’s easier for young kids to make this craft.
How to Make this Mother’s Day Card Craft
- Grab the color of cardstock that you want to use and load it into your printer. Then download the free printable Mother’s Day card template and print it onto the cardstock.
- Once printed, carefully insert the scissors and cut the heart out from inside the lines. Try to keep the heart in one piece because you will need it later.
- Trace the heart that you cut out onto the back side of clear contact paper. Cut out two of these hearts, about 2 inches larger so that the shape drawn will fit around the cut out in the shape of the card.
- Apply on the heart shapes of the contact paper to the front of the card, then cut out or rip a bunch of the tissue paper.
- Place the tissue paper randomly all across the contact paper leaving no gaps in the heart. Once the heart is full of all different colors, secure the tissue paper in place with the other heart shape of contact paper on the back.

Ingredients
- Love You to Pieces Card Printable
- Cardstock color of choice
- Clear contact paper
- Tissue paper assorted colors
- Scissors
Instructions
- Begin by printing the love you to pieces card printable on the color cardstock of your choice.
- Carefully insert the scissors and cut out the heart from inside the lines. Try to keep it in one piece, as you will need this heart later. An adult may be needed to do this step for safety.
- Now, trace the heart you cut out on the back/paper side of clear contact paper.
- Cut out two of these hearts, about 2 inches larger or so than the shape drawn so that it fits around the cut out shape of the card.
- Apply one of the heart shapes of contact paper to the front of the love you to pieces card.
- Then, cut or rip a bunch of colors of tissue paper.
- Apply the tissue paper randomly to the contact paper. Continue until the heart is full.
- Once the heart is full, apply the other heart shape of contact paper to the back of the love you to pieces card to secure the tissue paper in place and complete this super sweet Mother’s Day craft!
