Supplies Needed
- Printer – If you do not personally own a printer, then check with your local library or office supply store. Oftentimes, they have printing services that don’t cost much and some are even free!
- White copy paper – Printing at home? All you need is plain white paper. However, you can also print on cardstock if you’d like for these worksheets to be a bit more sturdy. You could even laminate them!
- Writing utensils – Anything from pencils and pens to colored pencils and markers will work for this packet. Whatever your kiddo wants to use to complete each super fun educational page!

- Calendars – There are printable monthly calendars for all 12 months of the year. They are not dated by year, so you can use them as a visual aid even if the dates don’t fall on the correct day for the year we are currently in. They are wonderful learning tools!
- Last Month, This Month, Next Month – This page is great practice for kids to identify past, present and future months.
- Tracing – For the littles who are just beginning, have them trace the name of each month. This is fabulous spelling practice too!
- Fill in the Missing Letters – Another great spelling practice worksheet!
- Circle the Number – For each month, there are three numbers listed underneath. Kids will identify which number goes with what month of the year that is listed.
- Unscramble the Words – A puzzle and spelling game all-in-one. Kids will learn the months of the year as they unscrambled the jumbled words to spell the names.
- Crossword – Who doesn’t love a good crossword puzzle? This one in my free months of the year worksheets is great practice for identifying all of the names and their spelling.
Tips for Completing Months of the Year Worksheets
- Make this packet extra exciting by using fun materials! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a frown if a kiddo is using glitter pens to complete a worksheet.
- If you want to keep all of these pages in one place, hole punch them and place them into a three ring binder. Then you can take the packet on the go!
- Add personal touches to the calendars by listing important dates, like birthdays and holidays. This will help kids begin to grasp the difference between months and start to remember dates that are important.
