Ingredients For Mermaid Dip

  • Cream cheese – Make sure it’s at room temperature so it’s easy to mix.
  • Powdered sugar – This adds sweetness plus it dissolves easily so the dessert dip won’t be grainy.
  • Marshmallow cream – This is the secret ingredient in this creamy dip. It will enhance the flavor and smooth, fluffy texture of the mermaid dip.
  • Vanilla extract – Adds a delicious vanilla flavor and balances some of the sweetness.
  • Frozen whipped topping – Allow this to thaw in the refrigerator overnight for easy mixing.
  • Food coloring – We used pink, green, red, and blue (mix blue and red to make purple). Gel food coloring makes it the most vibrant with the least amount of food coloring.
  • Sprinkles – We used Coated Chocolate Pearls and Ice Cream Sprinkles.

Beat the cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Add the powdered sugar to the bowl and beat until combined and light and fluffy

Divide the dip into small bowls and add the food coloring as desired. Carefully mix until the colors are incorporated.

Add dollops of the differently colored dip to a bowl. Run a knife or bamboo skewer around in the dip to create swirls.

Top the dip with assorted sprinkles.

Pro Tips

  • Do not overmix the dip when you are coloring it or the mixture will deflate.
  • Be careful not to overmix when you are swirling the colors together or the dip will turn grey.
