Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • You can easily change up the toppings. My kiddos love pepperoni and cheese pizza, but you can top them however you like. It’s a great way to use up odds and ends in the fridge, too.
  • Did we mention that they are ready in 20 minutes? It doesn’t get faster than this lunch or dinner idea.
  • Even better is that they’re freezer friendly! You can assemble them ahead of time, freeze them, and then bake them whenever you need a quick meal or snack.
English Muffin Pizzas Ingredients

Ingredients For English Muffin Pizzas

  • English muffins – I like to use whole wheat English muffins for a healthy twist. Out of english muffins? Make air fryer pizza bagels instead.
  • Pizza sauce – Use your favorite pizza sauce or marinara sauce.
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese – Use low-moisture mozzarella for the best melty, cheesy topping.
  • Mini pepperoni – You can also use regular sliced pepperoni and cut them into quarters.

Other Pizza Topping Ideas

  • Meat: Cooked and crumbled bacon, Italian sausage, or ground beef work great. Or try Canadian bacon, salami, or cooked chicken.
  • Cheese: Cheddar cheese, Provolone cheese, and shredded Parmesan cheese are good, too.
  • Veggies: Black olives, bell peppers, or mushrooms are an easy way to sneak in some vegetables.
  • Fresh basil: Add a fresh basil leaf to each pizza when it comes out of the oven to add a burst of fresh flavor.

How To Make English Muffin Pizzas

  1. Split and toast English muffins.
  2. With the inside facing up, top each half with pizza sauce, cheese, and pepperoni.
  3. Bake in preheated oven until the cheese is melted and slightly golden around the edges, about 10-12 minutes.

Pro Tips

  • Don’t load the English muffins up with too many toppings otherwise they may not hold up well.
  • Toasting the English muffins is what prevents them from becoming soggy so do not skip this step. You can line them up on a baking sheet to toast many at a time instead of using the toaster.

These mini pizzas have saved me many times when the kids get a pizza craving but we are short on time. They’re always a hit and so simple to make. The kids will love them and you will, too!

Storage And Reheating

Fridge: Store leftovers in an airtight container, separated by a piece of parchment paper for up to 5 days.

Freezer: Wrap cooled English muffin pizzas individually in plastic wrap before storing in an airtight container or freezer bag. Reheat from frozen.

To reheat, place on a baking sheet in a 350 degree Fahrenheit preheated oven until hot, about 5 to 10 minutes. You can also reheat in a toaster oven or air fryer. I do not recommend using the microwave as the English muffin will become soggy.

How To Make And Freeze English Muffin Pizzas Ahead Of Time

  • Toast the English muffins and place them open side up on a parchment lined sheet pan.
  • Add the pizza sauce, cheese, and toppings.
  • Place the sheet pan in the freezer for an hour or so, until the unbaked pizzas are frozen.
  • Wrap each one individually in plastic wrap and store the pizzas in a freezer bag.
  • When you’re ready to serve them, unwrap them and place them on a baking sheet. Bake them as instructed until the cheese is melted and they’re hot and toasty!
