Easy Halloween Candy Bark

I love to make treats that the kids can help with and candy bark is one of our favorites! This bark recipe is all about Halloween with googly eyes, Reese’s pieces, Oreos, and pretzels for a salty-sweet twist.

It’s an easy recipe that is all about the decorating. Once you have your melted chocolate the kids can have fun adding the candy and cookie decorations. Then, just let it set and it’s ready to serve.

It’s the perfect treat for Halloween parties or for gifting to friends and family. Or, just make a batch to have on hand for your little ghosts and goblins.

Halloween Bark Ingredients Ingredients

Ingredients for Chocolate Bark

  • Chocolate candy melts – We like dark chocolate Ghirardelli melting wafers. You can also use chocolate chips.
  • Pretzels – We like rods but any kind of small pretzel shapes will work.
  • Mini Oreos – If you can’t find them, you can lightly crush regular Oreos so they’re in big chunks.
  • Reese’s Pieces – Or, try Halloween M&Ms or mini peanut butter cups!
  • Sprinkles – We love a mix of googly eyes and little Halloween sprinkles, but use your favorites.

How long does chocolate candy bark keep?

What I love about candy bark is that it keeps well so it’s perfect to make ahead or for gifts.

  • Room temperature: Store it in an airtight container and it will keep for up to a week as long as it’s not too warm where you’re storing it.
  • Refrigerator: You can also store it in the fridge for up to two to three weeks!

Tips for the Best Bark!

  • Use candy melts or chocolate almond bark – they’re easier to melt and set up so your candy bark is perfect.
  • When you add the cookies, pretzels, and Reese’s Pieces, lightly press them into the chocolate so they stick.
  • Wait to add the sprinkles and eyes until the end – we like to individually place each eye so they’re evenly distributed.
