What is Chocolate Bark?

It’s a pretty simple treat! Melt chocolate and spread over a pan. Then add your toppings. We choose mini marshmallows and graham cracker pieces for a S’mores twist on our chocolate bark recipe.

After it cools simply break it into pieces and serve it. That’s it!

Why You Should Make S’more Chocolate Bark!

  • This is a quick and easy recipe – melt one kind of chocolate and then it’s ready to decorate!
  • It tastes like s’mores with the soft marshmallows, chocolate, and crunchy graham crackers but as candy bark instead.

Ingredients for S’mores Chocolate Bark

  • Chocolate chips – use milk chocolate chips, dark chocolate, or semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Graham crackers – break them up into small pieces.

Helpful Tools to Make Chocolate Bark

  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Silicone spatula
  • Small baking sheet
  • Air tight container

How to Make S’mores Bark Recipe

Melt: Place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Warm them in the microwave in 30-second intervals until smooth.

Spread: As soon as the chocolate is melted, spread all but two to three tablespoons of it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Be sure to spread it into an even layer.

Decorate: While the chocolate is wet, lightly press the marshmallows and graham crackers on top of the chocolate. Drizzle the remaining melted chocolate over the top.

Chill: Place the tray in the refrigerator for 10 minutes or until the chocolate hardens.

Break! Once the chocolate bark is set, break it into pieces.

What’s the best way to store chocolate bark?

For best results, store it in the refrigerator – it will keep for a week!

I haven’t tried freezing this recipe. Normally chocolate bark freezes well, but since this one has graham crackers they might soften once you thaw the bark at room temperature. So, you might want to skip the freezer with this one!

Recipe Tips

  • I think it’s easiest to break the crackers into small pieces, but you can also use crushed graham crackers and sprinkle them over the top.
  • When you spread the melted chocolate on the sheet pan, be careful to not spread it too thin. Otherwise, your chocolate bark will be flimsy. It helps to use a small baking sheet!
  • Feel free to add some sprinkles to dress it up! This is a fun thing to do for holidays.
  • If you like a salty-sweet combo you can use some chopped pretzels in place of some of the graham crackers for a twist.
