How to Make Firework Fork 4th of July Craft

This kids craft is so quick and easy to make, plus it’s great for hand and eye coordination for younger kids.

Create Plastic Fork Fireworks

  • Pour a quarter size amount of red and blue paint onto a paper plate.
  • Using the back side of the fork, dip one fork into the desired color of paint.
Important: Dab the fork onto the paper plate a few times to make sure you get the excess paint to come out of the middle of the fork prongs.
  • Gently press the back of the fork that’s covered in paint onto the clean paper plate. Continue to do this in a full circle, getting more paint as necessary as you press the fork down.
  • Repeat these steps about 3 times. (I found that for this activity, you can fit about three sets of fireworks onto the plate.) You can alternate the colors if you’d like (for example a red and blue set of fireworks).
After each set of fireworks is complete, sprinkle glitter on the fireworks.
  • Once the activity is complete, set aside to dry.

Quick Tips!

  • To get clean lines for the firework dab any extra paint off with a paper towel before making the firework on the paper plate.
  • Skip the paper plate and grab construction paper, printer paper or cardstock and create fork fireworks on a different background. These look super cool on a black background too!
