Paper Frog Craft
Fun and silly Paper Frog Craft for kids can be made with supplies that you already have! This easy kids craft is so simple to make with a frog template. Simply print, cut, glue and decorate and you have a fun frog craft.

Simple fun crafts are always my go to when my kids want something to do, but I don’t have time to plan something elaborate. This paper frog craft is so cute, easy, and great for kids of all ages!
If you’re stuck in the house on a rainy day, you can grab a few supplies and make this adorable little froggy friend. Or you can grab an empty toilet paper roll and make this toilet paper roll frog craft. Really turn the kids craft room upside down and create a whole habitat for the frogs with ponds, trees and more, such a fun idea! Nothing could be better than your very own frog pond and no wet mess from a real pond!
You can also use this easy frog craft in the classroom. This would be the perfect craft to create after reading a book like Froggy Goes to School (my son’s favorite!!) or Froggy Gets Dressed. And if it’s movie day at home, you can make this paper frog after watching Princess and the Frog! There’s so many exciting and fun ways to incorporate a paper frog craft into your day.
Why You’ll Love this Paper Frog Craft
- You only need five simple supplies to create your paper frog. It’s affordable, easy, and fun!
- This craft is perfect for children of all ages. Great for use in a setting where kids are a variety of different ages.
- The activities of cutting and pasting materials are wonderful for fine motor skills development.

Supplies to make a Paper Frog Craft
- Card stock – You will need green and red card stock. You can, of course, use any colors you’d like but green and red are used to create a classic froggy look. Feel free to use construction paper instead, but beware that it won’t hold up as well as cardstock. A colored regular piece of paper won’t hold up as well either but will work in a pinch.
- Googly eyes – I recommend using large googly eyes for your frog’s eyes. You can find them in the craft aisle at Walmart or your local craft store.
- Black marker – You can use a permanent marker or washable marker, either will work.
- Glue – Any craft glue will work! Feel free to use a glue stick if you prefer.
- Scissors – If you’re making this paper frog craft with younger children, you might consider using safety scissors.
- Template – Print out the paper frog craft printable template, cut out the shapes, and trace them onto your cardstock. If you don’t have a printer, you can free hand the shapes needed.
How to Make Paper Frogs
- Print the paper frog craft template out onto computer paper and then cut out each piece.
- Trace the circle onto green cardstock and then the other two piece on red cardstock. Cut out each piece.
- Fold the green circle in half and then take the red rectangle strip and curl an end around your finger or a pencil.
- Glue the curled strip onto the red half circle. Then, glue the red half circle inside the folded green circle. This creates the frog’s mouth. Be sure the tongue is sticking out of your froggy friends mouth!
- Glue frog’s eyes on the top of the folded green circle and draw two nostril slits near the bottom with your black marker.
- Allow any wet glue to dry and then have fun playing!

Can I use construction paper to make a paper frog?
You can make your easy frog craft with construction paper if you prefer! I recommend using card stock because it is sturdier, but construction paper will work just fine.
What can I use instead of googly eyes?
Large googly eyes can be hard to find sometimes. If you’re unable to find them or don’t have some on hand, feel free to make the frog’s eyes with large or small circles out of card stock or construction paper! You may able to print some out too, then you could cut and paste them onto your frog.
Pro Tips for the Best Paper Frog Craft
- Give this easy frog craft some extra pizzazz by adding glitter to the tongue or even on his cute little face!

- Glue a jumbo wooden craft stick on the back of your frogs to turn it into an easy DIY frog puppet. Make a few adorable craft stick puppets and put on a show!

Frog is adorable but the tongue won’t roll back up after it’s blown out. I have tried cardstock, printer paper and tissue paper.
