Attach a paper straw to the back so the kids can make them “fly” or skip it and hang them on the refrigerator for a spooky and cute decoration.

Ghost Craft Supplies

Supplies Needed for Easy Ghost Craft!

  • Glitter Card Stock – We used silver, orange, purple, and green, but any color will work and it doesn’t have to be glittery. We just thought it was fun!
  • Pipe cleaner – We used a craft pipe cleaner for this project to trace the arch for the ghost. You could also draw the ghost freehanded.
  • Scotch tape – We taped the pipe cleaner to paper to make the ghost pattern.
  • Pencil – We used a pencil to do the tracing for this craft, but you could use any writing utensil. Pro tip is to flip it over after you cut it out to hide the tracing lines!
  • Scissors Make sure it’s sharp for the cleanest lines.
  • Construction paper – We used construction paper for the eyes on the ghosts, but you could also use card stock.
  • Glue stick – We used a glue stick to attach the streamers to the ghost, but you could also tape them.
  • Marker – We used a marker to draw the smile, but you could use a crayon or colored pencil.
  • Ruler – we used a standard ruler.
  • Crepe paper streamers – You could also use tissue paper or ribbon.
  • Decorative Straws – You could also use wooden craft sticks or skip them if the kids don’t want to make the ghosts “fly” and just plan to hang them up on display!

How to Make Ghost Craft for Kids!

Now that you have your supplies for this easy ghost craft it’s time to cut, glue and assemble the ghosts!

Cut Out the Ghosts!

Let’s start by bending a pipe cleaner in an arch shape and tape the bottom of each end to the back of the colored glitter card stock.

Once secured, trace the arch and make some wavy lines at the bottom to create the ghost. Cut the template and use it to trace the other ghosts. Set the ghosts aside.

Give the Ghost Eyes!

Next, take the black construction paper and trace the end of the glue stick for circles for the eyes.

Cut out the eyes and affix them with glue. Use the black marker to create a spooky expression!

Pro tip! Make sure to flip your ghost and eyes over so you can’t see the lines used to trace if there are any!

Finish the Ghost!

Cut (3) 5-inch strips of black or white crepe paper streamer. Then cut each strip in half. Spread a thin layer of glue on the bottom of the back of the ghost.  Press each strip to attach them until secure.

Finally, cut a decorative straw in half. Take ½ and tape it to secure it to the back of the ghost.

Pro Tip: You could also use wooden craft sticks or skip them if the kids don’t want to make the ghosts “fly” and just plan to hang them up on display!

Now it’s time for the ghosts to fly!

Pro Tip!

Precut the ghost, eyes, and streamers to reduce time or make this craft easier for little ones.
