  • Clipboard – If you don’t have a clipboard, then use a binder or a book to write on. It will be easiest if you keep your checklist on a hard surface so that you can cross off everything as you find it without having to find a flat surface.
  • Pencil – Any writing utensil will work! Grab a pencil or a pen, even a crayon or a marker, to cross off the letters off your piece of paper for the scavenger hunt.

How to Complete this Alphabet Scavenger Hunt

You can either set the scavenger hunt rules to finding enough letters to spell a word or a name, or search for the entire alphabet! It’s entirely up to you and you can change up this game to be whatever you want it to be.

Start searching for letters and take a picture of each one that you find. They can be on signs, you can make them with random materials, or get creative and make letters with your hands too!

  • Find a few letters, or find enough letters to spell a word or a name, OR if you’re up for a challenge, you can search for the whole alphabet!
  • Take a picture of the letter you find.
  • Once you have taken all the pictures on your scavenger hunt, look back through your pictures and enjoy all the creative letters you found together! You can print them and put them together to spell a word or a name. You can print and glue your photos onto card stock, scrapbooking paper, or even construction paper. I recommend using a glue stick instead of liquid glue because if the photo paper is thin, it will wrinkle up with liquid glue. You can frame your finished art and hang it up for display, or you can use it to personalize many items such as a school binder or a banner. The letters would make a great display on a foam core board for young children who are learning the alphabet!
