Supplies to Make a Toilet Paper Roll Flower Painting

  • Cardstock – Choose any color of card stock that you want to use! Spring colors would be really pretty. You can also use construction paper if you don’t have cardstock.
  • Acrylic paint – Use whatever colors you want. I recommend using at least three different colors.
  • Green marker – You can use a permanent or washable marker, but make sure it’s green! You’ll use it to draw the stems of each flower.
  • Cardboard roll – If you don’t have any empty toilet paper rolls, you can use a paper towel roll and cut it in half.
  • Scissors – If you’re making this toilet paper roll painting with young children, consider using safety scissors.
  • Paper plate – I like to use a paper plate (or plastic plate) as a surface to pour paint onto. That way, it’s easy to dip the toilet paper roll into the paint and stamp with it.

How to Make Toilet Paper Roll Flower Stamp Art

  1. Pour a generous amount of each of your paint colors onto a paper plate. You can use separate plates for each color if you don’t want them to bleed together.
  2. Take a toilet paper roll and pinch one side of it to form a petal shape. Dip one end of the roll into the paint and then stamp onto a sheet of cardstock.
  3. Stamp the petal shape in a circle, overlapping the petals slightly to create a full flower.
  4. Make multiple different flowers of different colors by repeating the same process. Fill the whole sheet of cardstock with flowers until it’s full!
  5. Then, using your finger, swirl the paint in the center of each flower into a circle.
  6. Lastly, draw a stem for each flower with a green marker. Feel free to draw leaves on the stems too!
  7. Allow the paint to dry and then display your masterpiece wherever you want!

Pro Tips for the Best Toilet Paper Roll Flower Painting

  • Use multiple different toilet paper rolls so that your colors don’t mix and bleed together.
  • Add some glitter or glitter glue to the center or each flower, or on the petals! It will be the perfect way to give your flower painting a little extra fun.
  • Feel free to glue 3D objects onto your flowers. You could place a fuzzy pom pom in the center, or glue a sparkly green pipe cleaner on the paper as a flower stem. Use your imagination and have fun!
