How to Make Toilet Paper Roll Christmas Light Art!

  1. Begin by cutting a toilet paper size cardboard roll in half. You can keep them full size if you’d like, but you’ll need one for each color.
  2. Next, draw some lines across a sheet of green cardstock. 3 lines work great if working with the cardstock lengthwise, if working widthwise go with 2 lines. That way the “lights” don’t overlap over the lines.
  3. Now, spread paint on a flat surface, like a paper plate.
  4. Dip an end of the cardboard roll in the paint. Make sure the entire end is covered.
  5. Then stamp onto the green cardstock, near the black lines.
  6. Continue with all the colors. We also did different colors, like purple and yellow, and we did a white and yellow with white marker, too. All really pretty, but the red, green, and blue was our favorite and reminded us the most of Christmas. But definitely get creative!
  7. Once all the lights are stamped, draw connectors with the black marker from the light to the line.
