Instructions

  • Begin by cutting a toilet paper size cardboard roll in half. You can keep them full size if you’d like, but you’ll need one for each color.
  • Next, draw some lines across a sheet of green cardstock. 3 lines work great if working with the cardstock lengthwise, if working widthwise go with 2 lines. That way the “lights” don’t overlap over the lines.
  • Now, spread paint on a flat surface, like a paper plate.
  • Dip an end of the cardboard roll in the paint. Make sure the entire end is covered.
  • Then stamp onto the green cardstock, near the black lines.
  • Continue with all the colors. We also did different colors, like purple and yellow, and we did a white and yellow with white marker, too. All really pretty, but the red, green, and blue was our favorite and reminded us the most of Christmas. But definitely get creative!
  • Once all the lights are stamped, draw connectors with the black marker from the light to the line.
