Teachers work so hard for our kids all year long, I always want to give them a really great gift on the last day of the school year. So, what’s better than giving them a gift basket with things that they can use all summer?! Plus, this teacher gift basket is super affordable since you can buy everything you need a your local dollar store.

If your kids have a lot of teachers and you need gifts that are easier for them to bring to school on their own, this flower pencil craft is a great way to dress up some gift cards to give to teachers.

This teacher appreciation gift basket is so sweet and so fun to put together! And don’t worry about buying a card or gift tag to go with it, I’ve provided a template to print on your own. And your kids can color it too!

  • Basket – Grab a cute basket from your local dollar store or feel free to recycle a basket of your own! You may be able to find some really nice and affordable baskets at the thrift store too.
  • Tissue paper – Use tissue paper to fill the empty space in your basket and give it some texture. I recommend using a bright and summery color.
  • Beach towel – Your local dollar store or local Walmart will typically sell really affordable and cute beach towels around summertime!
  • Flip Flops – This is another staple that your local dollar store and Walmart will sell for really cheap during the summer time.
  • Sunglasses – Sunglasses are a summer staple that any teacher will love!
  • Personalized wine glass – You can purchase a plastic or glass personalized wine glass. There are stores that even sell stainless steel ones now! If you can’t find a wine glass, you can get a fun personalized tumbler or cup instead.
  • Bubble gum – Fill the personalized cup with bubble gum, candy, or any of your teacher’s favorite sweets.
  • Snacks – If you know your teacher’s favorite treats, grab a few snack size bags and put them in this DIY teacher gift basket. I used Cheez It’s and Mini Oreos, but anything will work great!
  • Lip balm – Grab a nice quality lip balm and add it to this fun summery teacher appreciation basket.

Print Free Gift Tag!

The first thing you are going to want to do is print out the free gift tag and cut it out.

How to Make a Teacher Gift Basket

Gather all of the items for your gift basket so that they are readily available as you build the teacher appreciation basket.

Roll you beach towel and then cut a ribbon long enough to tie a bow around it. Then, place the towel in the gift basket.

Place tissue paper in the bottom of the basket and fluff it up to fill some space. Place candy and/or gum into the personalized glass and place it in the basket.

Then, place the snacks and rest of the gifts into the basket. Arrange the larger items in the back and smaller ones toward the front for best presentation.

Once all the items are in the basket, you can begin making the gift tag! Cut a rectangle piece of card stock and then trim off the top 2 corner creating a gift tag shape.

Print the gift tag template and glue it to the card stock tag. Decorate the tag with colored pencils and punch a hole in the top.

Then, cut a 10 in piece of ribbon and attach the gift tag to the basket.

Your gift basket is ready to go!

  • To make the gift basket extra special and personalized, ask your teacher what their favorite snacks and candy are early in the year. Then, you can use those in this gift basket!

Summer Teacher Gift Basket

Give this fun gift basket to your teacher at the end of the school year loaded with summer items like sunscreen, lip balm, snacks, sunglasses etc.

Instructions

  • Let’s start by gathering all the items for our gift basket!
  • Next, roll your beach towel and cut a ribbon long enough to tie a decorative bow around the towel. Place the towel in the gift basket.
  • Add tissue paper to the bottom of the basket. Fill the glass with gumballs or treats of your choice! Place the snacks and gifts in the basket. Arrange the larger items in the back and the smaller ones in front for better presentation.
  • Once all the items are in the basket, let’s make our gift tag. Cut a piece of card stock into a 2 ½-inch x 4-inch rectangle. Place the rectangle vertically and cut off the top 2 corners forming a gift tag shape. Cut the printable template and glue it to the tag. Decorate the tag with colored pencils. Punch a hole in the top of the tag. Cut a 10-inch piece of ribbon and attach the tag to the gift basket.
  • Now your gift basket is ready to bring a smile to your favorite teacher’s face!

Notes

  • Gift baskets can be pricey, but we found many gift items and treats at our local Dollar Tree to keep costs down.
  • Adding a gift card to this basket would be an extra special treat for your favorite teacher!
