Make The Paper Loop Snowman
- Begin by cutting 3 long strips from the white paper. Each strip should be slightly bigger than the next; small, medium, large.
- Draw dot “buttons” going up the center of the middle strip with the black marker.
- Then draw a snowman face in the center of the small strip with the black marker. Draw an orange carrot nose, too. Leave the large strip as is.
- Now, roll the strips up in a loop and staple to secure.
- Glue the large loop to a sheet of blue cardstock.
- Then, glue the other two loops in place. Make sure the face of the snowman is facing up.
Finish Decorating!
- Now, use the black marker to draw an ear muff band around the top of the snowman’s head.
- Glue a shiny medium sized pom on either side.
- Next, draw stick arms coming from the snowman with a brown marker.
- Finally, use the white marker to make snow falling around the snowman.
Pair this with our Favorite Snowman Books!
We always pull out our snowman themed books for the winter then tuck them away when spring comes. It’s a great way to keep books “fresh and new” for the kids! Here are a few of our favorites to read before or after making your Paper Loop Snowman!
- A fun book about two friends joining together to win a snowman building competition makes the book “The Biggest Snowman Ever” a fun read.
- The entry for the snowman contest has magically come to life and ran away! In the book “How to Catch a Snowman” you will travel through a winter wonderland with running, skating, and bouncing through trap after trap to catch the snowman and claim the winning prize.
- Have you ever built a snowman and discovered the next day that his grin has gotten a little crooked, or his tree-branch arms have moved? And you’ve wondered . . . what do snowmen do at night? The delightful winter tail “Snowman at Night” will reveal what happens to snowmen at night!
- B-R-R-R-R! AH-CHOO! Sneezy the Snowman is cold, cold, cold. To warm up, he drinks cocoa, sits in a hot tub, stands near a warm fire–and melts! But the children know just what to do to build him up again–and make him feel “just right”.
