There’s no classic childhood snack like Jell-O Jigglers! They are so easy to make and the kids can help pick the colors, mix, pour and cut them out. They make a fun addition to any party or make them just because! You can use cookie cutters to cut them out into your favorite shapes or cut them into little cubes perfect for little fingers to pick up and eat.
We are sharing the secrets to making the BEST Jello Jigglers ever.
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- You only need two ingredients, so they are super easy to make!
- Making Jell-O Jigglers is a great way for kids to practice their color recognition and fine motor skills.
- Jell-O jigglers always have a 1:1 ratio for water and powder, so you can easily adjust and use layers or make the jigglers even thicker.

Ingredients for Jello Jigglers
- Boiling water – Boiling water is what dissolves the Jello crystals so easily and will help the Jello to set perfectly for your cookie cutters. You can also use fruit juice to give the jigglers more flavor.
- Jell-O Gelatin – Use any flavor, the possibilities for mixing and matching are endless!
How To Make Jell-O Jigglers
- Pour gelatin into a large bowl and add boiling water. Stir until gelatin is completely dissolved.
- Pour gelatin mixture into a 9×13 inch pan. Pop any bubbles with a toothpick or scoop out with a spoon.
- Place in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours or until firm.
- Dip the bottom of the pan in warm water for 15 seconds. Then cut Jell-O into shapes using cookie cutters, about 2 inches in size. Make sure to cut all the way through the gelatin to the bottom of the pan. Gently lift Jigglers out of the pan and place on a serving tray.

Storage
Store any leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container. Cover with a piece of plastic wrap so it is touching the Jello to avoid getting a film on the Jello. Jigglers should last for up to 10 days.
I don’t recommend freezing Jell-o jigglers because the texture and consistency will change, but that can also be a fun little science experiment!
Pro Tips
- Keep the scraps! Cut them up and layer them in little glasses with Cool Whip for a sweet dessert.
- Skip the cookie cutters and cut them into cubes or squares.
- Scoop out the bubbles after you pour the mixture into the pan. This makes it pretty!
- Using an offset spatula is an easy way to get the shapes out of the pan.
- Use a nonstick spray on the bottom of your pan before you pour the Jello mixture in to ensure they pop out easily.
How Do I Make Layers?
If you use different flavors and layer them it creates a fun rainbow effect. Let the Jell-O set until firm before adding the next layer to the pan. Patience is key here.
Just make sure your cookie cutters are big enough to cut through more layers or just cut them into cubes.
Can I Use Silicone Molds?
You can use silicone molds to make Jello Jigglers if you don’t have cookie cutters. Just make sure you spray each mold with a non-stick spray so they release easily.

Jello jigglers are a great way for kids to play with colors and their favorite cookie cutter shapes. They are great for theme parties and the kids will be thrilled to have helped make such a fun dessert!
