Ingredients For Homemade Fudgesicles

  • Milk – I like to use 2% milk for this recipe. Nonfat milk is okay too, but whole milk will make the popsicles even creamier.
  • Instant chocolate pudding mix – Make sure to buy instant pudding mix. It sets up fast without any cooking steps. Many stores have sugar-free pudding mixes if that is a part of your diet.

Variations

You can use instant dark chocolate pudding mix or regular chocolate. Add a pinch of salt to really enhance that chocolatey flavor. You can also make other kinds of popsicles using any other pudding mix flavor! Vanilla or banana fudge pops, anyone?

I haven’t tested this recipe with non-dairy milk, but I think almond milk would work well. Just keep in mind that your fudge pops may not be as rich and creamy. I would love to know if you have made dairy-free Fudgesicles with this recipe!

Helpful Tools

How To Make Homemade Fudgesicles

Whisk the milk and pudding mix until creamy and well combined.

Pour the pudding mixture into the popsicle molds and freeze them overnight or until they are firm.

Once they’re completely frozen, remove fudgesicles from the molds following the manufacturer’s instructions. Usually, all it takes is running them under some warm water to release them.

Storage

Store them in the coldest part of your freezer and they will keep for several weeks. I like to remove them from the popsicle mold once they are frozen and store them in a freezer bag. They keep better that way! If they seem like they might stick together, just place some parchment paper between each fudgesicle.

Are Fudgesicles Gluten-Free?

These are technically gluten-friendly! If you or someone who will be eating them has a severe allergy, you might want to look for a certified gluten-free pudding mix just to be safe.

Can I Make Homemade Fudgsicles Without A Popsicle Mold?

Yes! All you need are some small cups like Dixie cups and popsicle sticks. Pour the filling into the cups, then put a popsicle stick into the filling. Freeze overnight. Remove and eat them just like they were made with a popsicle mold.

How Do I Remove Frozen Fudgesicles From Popsicle Mold?

Sometimes they get a bit stuck in the mold. The easiest way to get them to release from the mold so they come out easily is to run a little hot water over the outside of the mold.
