Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • You only need five ingredients, and the total time to make it is five minutes! This is a nonalcoholic Grinch drink recipe that is totally kid-friendly.
  • It gets the green color from lime sherbert and green Hawaiian punch, so you don’t need to add any green food coloring. Add some pineapple juice, and it turns into a frothy, fruity drink.
  • This recipe makes 12 servings, but you can easily double it for a big Christmas party or movie night.

Ingredients

  • Lime sherbet – Adds the tangy flavor of lime and helps to make this drink bright green.
  • Green Hawaiian Punch – Be sure to get the green to add to the vibrant green color of this drink. You can also use lemon-lime Kool-Aid if that’s more readily available to you.
  • Pineapple juice – Use canned pineapple juice for the best flavor. An alternative to pineapple juice that will still add some tang is orange juice.
  • Sprite – Or other lemon-lime flavored soda.
  • Water – This will be used to dip the glass rims in so the sugar can stick to them.
  • Red sanding sugar – Look for this in the baking aisle or at craft stores.

Helpful Tools

How to Make Grinch Punch

Take a glass and dip the rim of the glass in water. Let the excess drip off and then dip the rim in the sanding sugar. Repeat with the rest of the glasses and then let the sugar dry while you make the punch.

Place scoops of lime sherbet in the bottom of the punch bowl.

Pour the Hawaiian punch, pineapple juice, and soda over the ice cream. Gently stir to combine – the punch will be frothy.

Ladle the punch into the prepared glasses and enjoy!

Storage

Grinch punch is best enjoyed right away. The sherbet will melt and the lemon-lime soda will go flat, so I recommend pouring any leftovers out at the end of the party. If you know you will be serving a smaller crowd, try halving the recipe so there isn’t any waste.

Pro Tips

  • I don’t recommend making this Grinch drink too far ahead of time. You want it to be cold and frothy. So, wait until you are ready to serve it – it’s so easy to assemble, it will be a breeze to do.
  • If you want an extra fun garnish, try adding a maraschino cherry, red sprinkles or red sprinkle hearts on top of the punch for serving.
