Frozen Yogurt Bites
These mini frozen yogurt bites are my summer-snack insurance policy. I make a batch on Sunday, stash them in the freezer, and suddenly I’ve got a healthy snack the kids will actually eat without a negotiation. Greek yogurt, fresh fruit, and whatever toppings we’ve got kicking around (granola, chocolate chips, crushed graham crackers if I’m feeling fancy), all frozen into perfect little bite-sized yogurt snacks. Five minutes of prep and the freezer does the hard work while I don’t.

I first made these frozen Greek yogurt bites on a day when I’d run out of popsicles, lost the battle about screen time, and had approximately one functioning brain cell left. The kids wanted a snack. I wanted them to leave the kitchen. There was a half-eaten tub of Greek yogurt in the fridge, a pint of strawberries past their prime, and a mini muffin tin that had been collecting dust since the last school birthday party.
I spooned yogurt into the tin, threw a sliced strawberry on top of each one, and shoved the whole thing in the freezer. Three hours later the kids came back from the neighbor’s yard sweaty and starving, and I handed them each two frozen yogurt bites like I’d planned it all along.
They asked for homemade yogurt bites every day that week. Then the next. And now it’s the one snack I can count on — everyone’s happy, nobody’s complaining, and I look like a mom who has her act together even when I definitely don’t. Five minutes of prep for the illusion of competence, folks. Worth it every single time.

Key Ingredients
- Yogurt – I like to use full fat Greek yogurt because it’s thick and freezes well. The higher fat content will give you the creamiest texture. We love vanilla yogurt, but you can use any flavor you like for this recipe! Use a non-dairy yogurt if necessary, coconut freezes best!
- Fresh fruit – We love strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, kiwi, peaches, and bananas. If you must use frozen fruit, thaw and drain before preparing the bites so there isn’t a ton of extra moisture.
- Other toppings – Granola makes a great topping or try chocolate chips. Other baking chips or baking bits will work, too. Or, for a special treat, try chopped candy bars or crushed cookies.

Flavor Variations
With so many yogurt flavors available, the flavor combos are practically endless! So, have fun mixing and matching the toppings with the yogurt. Need some inspiration? Try these combos!
- Peaches and cream: Combine vanilla Greek yogurt with chopped peaches.
- Lemon pie: Use lemon yogurt and add a layer of crushed graham crackers on top.
- Very berry: Pick your favorite berry flavored yogurt and top it with blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries.
- Banana nut: Banana yogurt, sliced banana, and a sprinkle of granola!
- Chocolate strawberry: Pair strawberry yogurt and chocolate chips!
- Cookies and cream: Top vanilla yogurt with crushed Oreos.
- Banana cream: Vanilla yogurt, sliced banana, and a sprinkle of crushed Nilla wafers.
- Birthday cake: Vanilla yogurt mixed with crushed Nilla wafers, topped with sprinkles.
- Chocolate dipped: Freeze plain bites then dip them in melted chocolate and freeze again on a parchment lined baking sheet.
- Parfait bites: Start by layering the granola on the bottom followed by the yogurt and finally the fruit.
These are just a few ideas so be sure to tell me your favorite combo in the comments! I’d love to know your favorite combination.
How to Make Frozen Yogurt Bites
- Add yogurt. Spoon the yogurt into the mini muffin pan, about 3/4 full to leave room for toppings.
- Top. Add toppings of your choice to the portioned yogurt.
- Freeze. Leave yogurt bites for three to four hours to set in freezer.
- Remove from pan. Take the pan out of the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for about five minutes. Take the frozen yogurt bites out of the pan and place them on a sheet pan. Place it in the freezer until the bites are frozen solid again.
- Store. Transfer the yogurt bites to a freezer-safe container until you’re ready to serve them.

Storage
Store in a freezer bag or airtight container in the coldest part of your freezer, away from the door. They’ll stay frozen and keep well for up to two months.
Pro Tips
- If you want to add a little more sweetness to plain Greek yogurt, stir in some maple syrup.
- Don’t place the individual yogurt bites in a freezer bag or container until they are completely frozen or they might stick together.
- A silicone muffin pan makes it super simple to pop the frozen bites out.
- Frozen yogurt bites are great for babies and toddlers but make smaller portions to avoid choking hazards and always supervise. Mashing fruit and mixing with the yogurt is also a great way to keep choking hazards in check.
- No mini muffin pan? An ice cube tray will work in a pinch!
