Start by turning the sock inside out. Use a ruler to measure the card stock (3x3). Cut the 3-inch by 3-inch square from the card stock and fold it in half. Apply a small amount of hot glue along the inside of the folded edge and press it onto the toe area of the sock. Let it dry for a few minutes. Once the glue is set, slide your hand inside the sock, grasp the card stock, and carefully flip the sock right-side out. This forms the puppet’s mouth.
Lay the sock flat with the heel facing upward. Glue a pair of googly eyes onto two white pom-poms and allow them to dry. Once secure, attach the pom-poms to the top of the sock using hot glue. Set aside to dry.
Choose your favorite yarn color. Wrap the yarn around four fingers about 50 times, then gently slide it off your hand. Tie another piece of yarn tightly around the center to hold it together. Use scissors to cut through the loops on both ends, then fluff the strands to create a fun, textured look. Glue the yarn hair onto the sock, just behind the eyes. Allow a few minutes to dry.
Cut a small tongue shape from the pink felt. Attach it inside the puppet’s mouth using hot glue. Let everything dry completely before playing with your new sock puppet!
