Begin by painting a paper bag in the Valentine’s Day appropriate color of choice. We chose pink and a seafoam blue for these birds, but red is always a great Valentine’s Day color choice or purple, even yellow. Let the paint dry completely.
While the paint is drying, print the template for the heart wings and cut out. One of the hearts is slightly smaller than the other. Trace and cut the larger heart from the cardstock color of choice.
When the glue is completely dried, glue the hearts to the sides of the front of the paper bag.
Cut a triangle from yellow cardstock for the beak. Glue the beak in place, along with googly eyes.
Now, use markers to draw details down the front of the body of the bird.
Trace and cut the smaller hearts from a different color of cardstock. Glue those hearts inside the larger heart.
Finally, punch a small heart using a heart paper punch from the cardstock color of choice. Glue that little heart to the top of the bird to complete this adorable, easy, and fun Valentine’s Day craft for kids!
