Instructions

  • Fold one piece of black cardstock in half horizontally. On the open edge, round the corners to create a soft half-circle shape. This will be the grill base.
  • Trace your hand onto red, orange, and yellow construction paper. Cut out each handprint carefully and set them aside. These will become the flames.
  • On the back of the metallic silver card stock, draw a simple spatula shape. Cut it out, then use a black marker to draw five thin lines across the top to mimic the slots of a real spatula.
  • Cut two strips from the metallic silver card stock, about 1 inch wide and 6 inches long. These will be the grill legs.
  • Fold a piece of white construction paper and trim it so it fits neatly inside the black grill shape. Glue it to the inside and let it sit for a minute. Write your Father’s Day message using a black marker.
  • Turn the grill over. Arrange the red, orange, and yellow handprints so they fan out like flames. Once you like how they look, glue them down.
  • Attach the two metallic strips to the back bottom of the grill to create the legs.
  • Flip the grill back over and glue the spatula to the front of the grill for a fun decorative detail.
  • Allow your creation to dry for at least 10 minutes before handling.
