Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes
Servings: 2 Christmas Trees

Instructions

  • Fold a toilet paper roll in half and secure it with glue dots.
  • Trace your child's handprints on green card stock and cut them out (you will need 3 handprints per ornament).
  • Overlap two handprints and glue them to the toilet paper roll to form a tree shape. Glue the third handprint on top to create the top layer of the tree.
  • Place a foam star at the top of the tree.
  • Decorate the tree with pipe cleaners, sequins, and pom poms.
  • Cut a pipe cleaner in half and shape one of the halves into an oval for a hanger. Secure it to the back of the ornament.
  • Repeat the steps to make a second tree.

Notes

  • You can also use Elmer’s glue, glue sticks or hot glue (just be careful with littles!).
  • You can use green felt as the handprint Christmas tree base if you want! It can make it more malleable and better to decorate for younger children.
  • Strand these ornaments on glittery garland, ribbon, or string to make a DIY Christmas decor garland.
  • Light up your handprint Christmas tree ornament with a stick on light or even some little fairy lights!
