Servings: 12 Christmas Tree Brownies

Ingredients

  • 18.3 Family Size Fudge Brownie Mix + necessary ingredients ours used water, vegetable oil, and eggs
  • Icing green
  • Sprinkles
  • Party straws red/white stripe

Instructions

  • Let’s start by preparing the brownies using the ingredients instructed on the box. Pour the prepared brownie mix into a parchment-lined jelly roll pan—Bake at 350°F for 22 minutes.
  • Once done, remove them from the oven and place them on a cooling rack to cool completely.
  • Now that the brownies are cooled cut them into 12 equal squares. Then cut a triangle out of each square. Place the scraps in a resealable bag for snacking!
  • Next, let’s add a 3- inch section of straw to the bottom of each brownie. Place the green icing in a piping bag and pipe in a zig-zag pattern from top to bottom of each triangle brownie.
  • Decorate with sprinkles and place on your favorite holiday serving platter.

Notes

We used a tub of cake frosting from the grocery store.
CAN YOU USE A 9×13″ BAKING PAN INSTEAD OF A JELLY ROLL PAN?
I recommend using the jelly roll pan because you don’t want thick brownies. A larger pan will make thinner brownies which are easier to eat off a stick.
If you only have a 9×13″ baking pan, you can use it but you won’t get as many brownie trees and they will be a lot thicker. They will also need to bake longer.
HOW LONG DO FROSTED BROWNIES KEEP?
Once you’ve decorated your brownies, place them in an airtight container in a single layer. This will keep the frosting and decorations from getting smudged.
They will keep at room temperature for two to three days.
MAKE AHEAD TIPS
You can make and bake the brownies ahead of time and decorate them later! Allow them to cool completely and store them in an airtight container for up to one day before frosting them.
Or you can freeze the unfrosted brownies for up to two months. I recommend wrapping them individually and storing them in a large freezer bag. Let them thaw at room temperature before adding the icing and sprinkles.
