Start by covering your surface with craft paper to protect it from spills during this activity.
Let’s make the body of the owl! Grab your recycled toilet paper roll. Fold the top toward the center of the roll and pinch corners to create ears. Then paint the roll with any color. Allow the paint to dry for 10 minutes.
While the owl's body is drying, let’s make the feathers and wings! Take a cupcake liner and fold it, layering it to look like feathers for the owl’s chest. Cut a half-moon shape at the top. Apply glue to the back and then wrap the cupcake liner around the owl's body once it has dried. Take another cupcake liner and cut it in half and then in half again. Glue each “wing” onto the right and left sides of the body. Allow drying for a few minutes.
Once the wings are dry, draw some feathers to add texture to your wings.
Now it’s time to add the eyes and nose! First, cut a small orange triangle and affix it to the body with glue for the nose. Then add your googly eyes and draw some eyelashes with your marker to personalize this owl.
Your owl is now complete and ready for playtime!
