Ingredients

  • 8 cups freshly fallen snow
  • 1 cup heavy cream OR whole milk
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Sprinkles for garnish if desired

Optional ingredients:

  • Sprinkles
  • Cocoa Powder
  • Strawberry extract
  • Frozen Strawberries
  • Red vegetable food coloring

Instructions

  • Set large bowls out to gather fresh snow as it falls.
  • When you have collected enough snow, whisk the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract in a bowl. Mix well! Place this mixture in the freezer for 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes, add the chilled sweet cream mixture to the fresh snow and mix/chop well. Serve immediately! Top with sprinkles if desired. If the snow cream starts to melt, place it in the freezer for 15-20 minutes. Bring it out again and stir, and then place it back in the freezer for another 15 minutes. Enjoy!
  • If you would like a creamier, smoother finish to your snow cream, try blending the snow cream in a powerful blender. (I use a Vitamix.) I recommend blending half of the snow cream at a time to avoid bogging down the blender. You can also use the tamper tool to help the blender if the mixture is really thick.

For fun, optional mix ins:

  • Add ¼ cup cocoa powder to the above recipe to make delicious, chocolate snow cream. OR
  • Add 1 teaspoon of strawberry extract and 10-12 frozen strawberries for strawberry snow cream. Add 10 drops of red vegetable food coloring to make it pink!
