Homemade Brownies

Easy to make homemade brownies that are so chewy and delicious!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter melted and cooled
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs room temperature
  • 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips divided

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and set aside.
  • In a mixing bowl with a hand mixer or bowl of stand mixer with the paddle attachment, combine melted butter, brown sugar and white sugar.
  • Add eggs and vanilla and mix for another 2 minutes.
  • Add salt and baking powder and mix until combined.
  • Add cocoa powder and flour and mix until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth out until even.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the middle no longer jiggles.
  • Let sit in the pan for 10–15 minutes and let cool completely before cutting.

Notes

STORAGE
For best results, transfer brownies to an airtight container. If you have to stack them, make sure there is parchment paper between the layers so that they don't stick together. Store at room temperature for 4-5 days.
You can also freeze leftover brownies if you want! Wrap them individually in plastic wrap or foil and place into a freezer bag. Store in the freezer for up to 3 months.
