Instructions

  • Gently flatten a few round coffee filters on your table. They don’t have to be perfect, just smooth enough to draw on.
  • Use washable markers to color the entire filter in fun patterns. Dots, stripes, and zigzags all work great. The more color you add, the more vibrant your snowflakes will look once they dry.
  • Lightly mist the colored coffee filter with water from your spray bottle. Watch as the colors blend and swirl together. Let it dry completely on paper towels or parchment paper before cutting.
  • Once dry, fold the filter in half, then in half again, and once more into a triangle. Use your pencil to sketch little triangles, squares, or circles along the folded edges. Carefully cut them out with scissors, then unfold your snowflake to reveal your unique design.
  • If you’d like, add a bit of glitter glue or stick-on gems to make your snowflakes shimmer.
