Cook Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 40 minutes
Servings: 1 pie crust

Ingredients

  • 24 Oreos
  • 4 tablespoons butter melted

Instructions

  • Place the Oreos into your food processor. Pulse the processor until the Oreos are chopped into crumbs.
  • Stream in the butter until it’s all combined.
  • Place the crumb mixture into a 9-inch pie pan. Using the back of a measuring cup, pat the mixture up the sides and the bottom.
  • Place the crust into the fridge for 30 minutes to set up.

Notes

DOES IT MATTER IF I USE CLASSIC OREOS OR DOUBLE STUFFED?
You can use regular or double-stuff Oreos cookies!
HOW DO YOU GET THE SIDES OF THE CRUST TO BE THINNER?
I use a two-hand method with one hand on the side and one hand on the top and press all the way around the crust. This is the easiest way to make an even crust.
I DON’T HAVE A FOOD PROCESSOR. IS THERE ANOTHER WAY TO MAKE THIS?
Yes, you can chop them up in a blender or place them in a large Ziploc bag and smash them with a rolling pin until they break down into crumbs.
IS THERE A WAY TO SPEED UP THE CHILL TIME?
You can place the crust in the freezer for 15 to 20 minutes.
TIPS FOR THE BEST OREO PIE CRUST
  • When you crush the sandwich cookies (you don’t need to remove the cream!) be sure to break them down into fine cookie crumbs. If there are big, uneven pieces your crust won’t hold together as well.
  • Don’t skip the chilling step! The crust should be nice and cold when you add your pie filling.
  • Want to get a head start? You can freeze this Oreo crust for up to three months. Just keep it tightly wrapped with plastic wrap!
VARIATIONS OF OREO PIE CRUST
Mint chocolate crust: Use mint Oreos!
Peanut butter no-bake crust: Yes, they make peanut butter Oreos!
Double chocolate: Use chocolate cream Oreo cookies.
Seasonal: Keep an eye out during holiday seasons – there are often seasonal Oreos you can use to make this pie crust depending on the flavor you want.
Other cookies: Yes, this is an Oreo crust but you can easily swap the chocolate cookies and make a graham cracker crust, shortbread crust, or gingersnaps crust.
