How to Dye Easter Eggs with Fabric

Use different texted fabrics to dye your Easter Eggs! Each one will create a different pattern on your dyed Easter egg.

  • Prepare your egg dye according to package directions.
  • Place your hard boiled egg in a piece of material. Secure the fabric, as tightly as you can against the egg, at the top with a rubber band.
  • Place the egg in dye for at least 30 seconds or according to package directions.
  • Remove egg from dye, place on paper towels and pat the outside dry with paper towels.
  • Let it rest for about 2 minutes then gently cut the fabric away from the egg.
  • Immediately pat dry again and let it rest for another 3 minutes to dry completely.
