It’s Thanksgiving time and the kids to do turkey crafts! Am I right? You want an easy one that you have all the supplies for with minimal mess and clean up!
This Thanksgiving turkey craft is one I can get behind. It is so cute and takes about 30 minutes, so the kids will be well occupied while you try to prepare a few dishes for your Thanksgiving get together.
Perfect for doing at home on the weekends or great for a class activity!

- This paper bag turkey craft is so simple. You only need 5 supplies that you most likely already have on hand.
- This is the perfect Thanksgiving day craft for kids of all ages. The smaller kids can work on fine motor skills with glueing and the bigger kids can work on cutting, too.
- There is hardly any mess to clean up when you’re all done this craft. Just tidy up what you pulled out of the craft cupboard and you are quickly on to the next activity.

Supplies Needed
- Turkey Template
- Brown Paper Lunch Bags – Typically, you will probably use the standard size, but if you’ve got larger ones on hand from the grocery store, give those a try too!
- Cardstock – We use 7 different colors for the feathers, but you can use as few or as many as you have on hand. You can also use construction paper in it’s place, the feathers just won’t be as sturdy.
- Medium size googly eyes – If you don’t have these don’t’ let it stop you! Simply make some out of white and black paper or a black marker.
- Scissors
- Glue Stick
How to Make Paper Bag Turkeys
- Print the template and cut out all the pieces. Trace the feather on 7 different colors of paper.
- Cut out the feathers in different colors of card stock.
- Arrange the feathers in a fan shape on the flap of the paper bag. Then glue the feathers down.
- Flip the bag over and adhere googly eyes.
- Trace the beak on orange paper and cut out. Fold the beak in half. Also trace and cut a red snood.
- Glue the snood behind the beak then position in place.
- Finally, trace the feet on orange cardstock and cut out. Glue the feet to the bottom of the paper bag.







Pro Tips
- If there will be a lot of younger kids at your get together, pre-cut a bunch of feathers, beaks and snoods so all they need to do is work on glueing without waiting for a turn with the scissors.
